LOBBYIST HELPS FUND STATE'S DEFENSE
Costs for a lawsuit against the state over funding education have already surpassed $4.6 million. The story is in today's Globe.
After I wrote the story, I received an e-mail press release from the Children's Education Alliance of Missouri, which states that lobbyist Rex Sinquefield helped the attorney general's office defend the case with an $800,000 private donation.
According to the blog Show Me Progress, Sinquefield has been quite busy figuring out how to skirt campaign donation laws. Sinquefield is president of the Show-Me Institute, a think-tank that advocates "school choice," which some have called a euphemism for a voucher system. The CEAM also advocates the concept of school choice.
